SINGAPORE, 22 September 2009 – PurpleClick Media’s founder Leonard Tan attains prestigious business award at 31.

Young and successful - Mr. Leonard Tan of PurpleClick Media is certainly one of the best role model for all the young, aspiring local entrepreneurs; more so after he was presented with the “Top Entrepreneur of The Year Award 2009” at the award gala dinner held at Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore on 16 September 2009.

Despite having a promising career at Yahoo! Inc, Leonard Tan gave it up for a vision and started PurpleClick Media three years ago in January 2006. He spotted an untapped business opportunity in Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and had since helped over 600 small and medium enterprises (SME) market their businesses online with search engines like Google and Yahoo, both locally and beyond.

In 2007, PurpleClick Media became the first agency in the region to be accredited by both Google and Yahoo! for their SEM products, and the company grew extensively from a 2-men setup to a professional team of over 20, in less than 4 years.

On winning the “Top Entrepreneur” title at barely 31, Mr. Leonard Tan expressed his gratitude to those who made it possible.

“We would not have come this far without the support of our clients, and our key partners like Google, Yahoo!, IE Singapore and so many others. And not forgetting the devoting members of the PurpleClick team for their hard work, this reward is definitely not mine alone,” said Leonard.

Besides the EYA award, Leonard was also recognized in Business Week’s list of Asia’s 25 Best Young Entrepreneurs 2008, while his company PurpleClick Media nets the Emerging Enterprise 2009 award and Top Search Engine Marketing Agency earlier this year.

When asked about the secrets of his success, Leonard replied with a confident smile, “Dream big. Do it. Achieve it.”
