PurpleClick Accomplish Perfect 10 Despite Difficult Times
 

Singapore, 15 December 2009 - 2009 could well be the most dramatic and traumatic year of the decade. It is definitely not the best time for businesses, especially with the global economic slowdown and financial gloom shadowing most trades within and out of Singapore.

For PurpleClick Media, on the contrary, the last 12 months have been an eventful and thrilling period as this young online marketing agency inadvertently collected 10 different business awards. After all, there aren’t many enterprises that could claim similar accomplishments; given that PurpleClick Media is a home-grown start-up that has barely reached its fourth anniversary.

In the last 12 months, PurpleClick Media had garnered 10 different accolades to its name, including-

  • “Agency of the Year for SME Market Education 2008” by Google;
  • “Top Winner, Emerging Enterprise 2009” by Business Times and OCBC Bank;
  • “Top 3 Search Marketing Agency 2009 (Global Category)” and
  • “Top Winner, Search Marketing Agency (Local Category)” by Marketing Magazine;
  • “Entrepreneur of The Year 2009” and
  • “Entrepreneur of The Year 2009 for eCommerce” by Rotary and Association of Small and Medium Enterprise (ASME);
  • “Top Winner, Shell LiveWIRE awards 2009” by Shell, ITE, ITE Alumni and SPH;
  • “Brand Leadership Award” by World Brand Congress;
  • “Silver Award for Best Digital Campaign - SEM/SEO” and
  • “Silver Award for Best Campaign Strategy – Customer Acquisition” - both under 2009 dm360awards organized by Direct Marketing Association of Singapore (DMAS)

Attainment of these 10 awards have been part planned efforts and part unpremeditated. The recognitions have been fuel for the continued outstanding performance of the PurpleClick team, and mostly they have helped to raise the general awareness of online marketing besides enhancing the company’s brand image.

Cited as the “Rising Star” by some, PurpleClick Media, which started off humbly as any local setup, is proud to corroborate the saying “Nothing is impossible”.

1. Agency of the Year for SME Market Education 2008 – December 2008
It all began 12 months ago when PurpleClick Media received recognition from Google as the “Agency of the Year for SME Market Education 2008” for efforts put in to educate the small and medium enterprise (SME) market about Adwords, Google’s online advertising program.

The “Sow and Reap” approach is deemed vital for the development of the online marketing industry in Singapore, according to Leonard Tan, founder and CEO of PurpleClick Media. As the internet media evolves and achieves ever-increasing integration with our daily lives, it will become an inevitable marketing channel which many trade and industries locally are presently still ignorant about.

2. Top Winner, Emerging Enterprise 2009 – June 2009
Jointly organized by The Business Times and OCBC Bank, Emerging Enterprise Awards 2009 is the first official business award that PurpleClick won. Recognizing local aspiring enterprises that displayed great growth potential and resilience to adversity, this award is one of the most prestigious business honours for young companies with annual turnover between S$1.5 million and S$10 million.

3. Top 3 Search Marketing Agency 2009 (Global Category) – August 2009

Organized by the Marketing Magazine, PurpleClick was both surprised and overwhelmed to have won majority of the votes for Search Marketing Agency category and eventually attain top positions in both local and global categories. The Marketing Agency Awards has been a much sought-after industry tribute and the award ceremony in August was graced by over 700 marketers and professionals from various media agencies.

5. Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2009 – September 2009
6. Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2009 for eCommerce – September 2009
Recognized for the ability to create a successful, profitable enterprise that is socially responsible, PurpleClick’s founder Leonard Tan was the youngest recipients to receive the prestigious awards co-organized by Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (ASME) and Rotary Club. Leonard also bagged the “Entrepreneur of the Year for e-Commerce” title.

7. Top Winner, Shell LiveWIRE awards 2009 – October 2009
Despite keen competition, PurpleClick Media was ultimately chosen as the Top Winner of Shell LiveWIRE Awards 2009 for its creative business models and sturdy business sustainability. In Singapore, this biennial award is jointly organized by energy giant Shell and ITE, in partnership with the ITE Alumni and Singapore Press Holding (SPH)’s Chinese Newspapers Division.

8. Brand Leadership Award – November 2009
Attended by more than 600 attendees from over 60 countries, the “Brand Leadership Award” was organized by the World Brand Congress in Mumbai. PurpleClick was the only company from Singapore that received this award, in recognition for companies with a strong brand positioning and effective marketing activities that result in high overall corporate value

Wrapping up the year, PurpleClick Media had not anticipated these two awards, which are under the dm360awards 2009 campaign organized by Direct Marketing Association of Singapore (DMAS). The two SILVER awards are the first acknowledgments for PurpleClick’s creative and professional capabilities. Recognitions from the panel judges, who are made up of various renowned names in the media and creative field, are great morale boosters for the team.
